Start with the permit for your load
The figures below are a planning reference, not a dispatch instruction. Your issued permit, applicable exceptions, and current requirements control the movement. Do not add the rows together to determine an escort count.

Single-unit length has different thresholds: over 65 through 85 feet generally requires one escort; over 85 feet, two. See section 7.
Height and overhang need separate attention
Section 9 specifies high pole escort above 16 feet 6 inches when passing beneath bridges on Glenn Highway miles 0–27, and generally above 17 feet. It includes written-clearance exceptions and an exception north of Fox Weigh Station. Read the complete conditions for your route.
Section 8 specifies front escort for front overhang above 25 through 60 feet, and two above 60 feet. Rear overhang above 20 through 35 feet calls for rear escort, and two above 35 feet. Rear overhang above 10 through 20 feet has an extended-light-bar or rear-escort option.

Use the official planning resources
Alaska’s Commercial Vehicle Customer Service Center links to the permit manual, regulations, and permit resources. Applications are available through AKSWOOP. Check Alaska 511 for current road information when planning the trip.
Rig Runner does not issue permits. Once you have the route and escort conditions, share them with us along with the desired move date. If the route or loaded configuration changes, update the escort request as well so the quote describes the job that will actually travel.
Turn the plan into an escort request
Send the origin, destination, loaded width and height, overall length, overhang, and dates. Include the permit escort conditions when available, plus any receiving appointment or access instructions. A load continuing through Fairbanks to Prudhoe Bay should include the final destination and any staging stop.
